As a modern social services company we provide vocational rehabilitation to blind and visually impaired adults nationwide. The goal of the BFW is to assist people with a visual impairment to develop new careers allowing them to participate fully in the labour market.

All training is geared specifically to the needs of each individual with particular emphasis placed on developing the knowledge and skills of each individual. The training is delivered by a team of highly specialised professionals. All of our instructors, psychologists, social pedagogues and visual aids specialists work closely in a team to support the participants' incentive and to strengthen social competencies.

The successful realisation of our idea is based on training the individual characteristics according to the current needs at the labour market. We work in close cooperation with all agencies responsible for vocational rehabilitation including Deutsche Rentenversicherung Mitteldeutschland (regional pension insurance), Deutsche Rentenversicherung Bund (German pension insurance), job centres, employer's associations and also potential employers and the Blind Association.

By using modern technology throughout the whole rehabilitation process our training focuses on current working conditions.
